Dave Rae is a Certified Responsible Investment Adviser with over 20 years of experience in financial planning. He specialises in building "Portfolios of Purpose," aligning clients' financial strategies with their values to drive real-world impact. Dave is recognised as one of Financial Standard's Power 50 Most Influential Advisers and holds the Certified Responsible Investment Adviser accreditation from the Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA), where he served as a director from 2019 to 2023.

Dave is a leader in responsible investing and has been involved in advocacy for climate and democracy issues. He has contributed to publications like the Australian Financial Review and the Sydney Morning Herald. He is also an active impact investor, focusing on environmental and social themes.

Holding a Bachelor of Economics (Accounting) and a Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, Dave is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™

Dave is committed to educating clients and the industry about impact investing, emphasising the potential for investments to create positive change without sacrificing financial returns. Outside of work, Dave enjoys mountain biking and road biking, balancing financial wellbeing with an adventurous and fulfilling life.

With over six years in financial services and sustainable investing, Marissa has worked with individuals, families and NGOs to align portfolios with sustainability goals.

Before co-founding Unless Financial, Marissa was a Shareholder Engagement Lead and Paraplanner at Ethinvest, collaborating with advocacy groups to influence corporate sustainability policies in banking and fossil fuels. She also helped clients engage in shareholder advocacy to drive meaningful corporate change.

Holding a Bachelor of Business (Economics & International Business), a Diploma in UN Studies and a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning (Distinction).

Marissa is currently based in Amsterdam where she continues to shape Unless Financial’s sustainability strategy while completing a Master’s in Economics (Global Challenges) from Vrije Universiteit.

Outside of work, she’s an avid traveller dedicated to environmental protection and is adapting to Dutch life – mastering the bike commute and the language. Known for her thoughtful approach, Marissa builds strong relationships, supporting clients in making informed financial decisions that drive real-world impact.

With nearly 20 years in responsible investment, ethical finance, and innovation, Justin is dedicated to directing capital toward a just and regenerative future.

Most recently, he was a Financial Adviser at Ethinvest, Australia’s oldest ethical investment advisory firm, helping individuals, families, and NGOs align their finances with their values. A Certified Responsible Investment Adviser (RIAA), he served on RIAA’s board for nearly a decade, contributing to the globally recognised Certification Program. He also co-founded the Ethical Advisers’ Co-op and previously led The Emerald Club, launching Australia’s first responsible investment-dedicated platform.

Beyond finance, Justin is active in environmental advocacy and community resilience. He is a Non-Executive Director at Parents for Climate and a community member of the NSW Rural Fire Service. A former Advisory Council Member for the AEGN Wealth Project, he is also a Fellow of the Centre for Sustainability Leadership.

Holding a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and an Advanced Diploma in Financial Services, Justin is passionate about helping people make impactful financial choices. A dad of two and committed to a plant-based lifestyle, he spends his free time coaching his son’s soccer team or tackling DIY projects.

CHIEF INNOVATION OFFICER (Fractional)

As the Fractional Chief Innovation Officer, Lucy brings a creative, future-focused lens to impact-driven strategies, helping shape a seamless and engaging experience for Unless’ clients. Lucy believes that every business can be regenerative, with 13+ years of experience partnering with small to large organisations, globally. 

Formerly, Lucy established the Sustainability Studio at Accenture Song in APAC after her time at Fjord - Innovation Design agency in APAC & Europe, where she led transformative projects, winning the Cannes Titanium Award for her teams’ work with Tuvalu Digital Nation. She is also the Co-Founder of Perspectives, a Berlin-based art exhibition series amplifying diverse voices on critical social issues. And is an alumni of the Regenesis Institute.
